Heissdampfreaktor AKA HDR You've no doubt heard of RATHBONE -- the world's fakest band. And if you haven't, then perhaps you should acquaint yourself, fool! We have more followers on Facebook than Flight of the Freakin' Conchords, after all!!! Before RATHBONE, there was Heissdampfreaktor... a group of superhuman chicks who liked to play punk rock in another fake band. Granted, the fake-band aspect was just an offshoot to the idea that I wanted to put them in any given scenario I could think up at the time. Today they were playing shows on top of buildings and getting attacked by giant monsters from the deepest depths of your worst nightmares (just like The Beatles!) and tomorrow they might be astronauts, or district attorneys, or small woodland creatures, even... I wanted to, and still want to, despite its hiatus, try several things with this series. I suck at inking, so I wanted to actually pick up some pens and brushes and work on that. I tend to dialogue the hell out of my stories, so I wanted to work with visuals alone. Also, I wanted to try a crap shoot method of writing -- devising the plot as I worked on the art and seeing where it takes me. This series of sequentials is currently incomplete, due to the amount of other things on my plate, but I do have intentions to continue it in the future. Blame the fact that I'm inking it... I still loathe inking... Warnings for violence and that's about it. This one's pretty tame by my current standards. |
