SONIC: The Ruby Comic If you're here visiting my homepage, it's probably because you've seen my stuff in a published comic somewhere. And if you've seen my stuff in a comic somewhere, it was probably Sonic The Hedgehog, which chronicles the adventures of SEGA's poster-rodent and is still to this day, one of Archie Comics' most popular series. I mean... God forbid you're here only after meeting me in person and for some reason you've come to find out more about me... If that's the case, YOU'RE A SICK HUMAN BEING. I get asked all the time, "Do you draw anything without tons of blood, gore and guts in it, anymore?" -- And the answer to that question is "No. I do not." But that's only on a general level... Say what you will, but my Sonic stuff has always been my most popular, and indeed, there is something cathartic about pencilling and writing for a book that requires I tone down the grown-up shock-value and instead, draw upon youth-appropriate themes -- hopefully coming out with a good story regardless. Did I say cathartic? I meant sadistic... Anyway... Folks were often requesting I do more stuff with the Sonic cast, after my departure from Archie, and I admit to being a sucker for such requests, so I came up with this 12-page story. I always liked Knuckles the Echidna better than Sonic, as I was 9 times out of 10, working on the Knuckles stories for Archie, and decided to go with him for this one... Warnings for an ultra-saccharine plot, but some art I am to this day, still proud of. Read this one with your kid sister. |
